The Maryland Governor's Business Summit is just around the corner. During the one-day summit on May 18, Maryland's business community will gather to explore an array of topics including redefining urban centers and the future of manufacturing. Here are five reasons you don't want to miss it.

  1. Connect with 500+ from the Maryland business community.
In addition to hearing from executives, including Arne Sorenson, CEO of Marriott, and Anirban Basu, Chairman & CEO of Sage Policy Group, you'll have the opportunity to network with hundreds of business leaders in between sessions and during breakfast and lunch.
  2. Choose the track that works for you.
In addition to general sessions offering broad topics, the Business Summit offers three tracks that will allow attendees to hone in on their interests and fields. The three tracks— Human Capital, Business Strategy and Global Trends—offer panels stacked with experts in these three areas.
  3. Listen to higher education leaders dive in on innovation.
Maryland's higher education institutions provide countless opportunities for partnership and innovation across all industries. This will be the topic of a dynamic panel with: Johns Hopkins University President Ronald Daniels; University of Maryland President Dr. Wallace Loh; Morgan State University President Dr. David Wilson; Loyola University Maryland President Rev. Brian Linnane; and University System of Maryland Chancellor Dr. Robert Caret.
  4. Take advice on teams from John Harbaugh.
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh knows a thing or two about leading winning teams. During the last session of the day, he'll discuss how to build them—in the locker room and boardroom.
  5. Hear What Esti Peshin has to say about cyber threats.
Esti Peshin, general manager for Israel Aerospace Industry/Elta's Cyber Division, will address a topic that's important to all businesses: cybersecurity. Take advice from this industry expert on how to protect your business from cyber threats.
