Celebrating company milestones in Maryland

09/05/2017 | Mike Gill

Hey gang,

Summer may be winding down, but our milestone celebrations are heating up. We have two major anniversaries leading this latest batch – Craig's Drug Store and Stebbins Anderson – with 150 years each!

Located in Cambridge, Craig's Drug Store has been caring for the community and investing in Maryland's Eastern Shore for generations. The founder, Charles Craig, and his son, William Craig, were two of the first men to be issued certificates by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy. We cannot thank them enough for opening up shop in Dorchester County and staying in business for more than a century.

Stebbins Anderson, a Towson staple, has been serving customers in the Baltimore Metropolitan region since 1867. The shop has been through some changes – starting as a lumber, coal, and hardware business, before bringing in housewares and sporting goods, and eventually becoming the anchor store for The Shops at Kenilworth. We're looking forward to seeing what Stebbins has in store for the next 50 years.

Other anniversaries taking place around Maryland include The Insurance Exchange in Rockville (50 years), House of Tropicals in Glen Burnie (50 years), and Power Marketing in Hagerstown (25 years). We are so proud of all of our businesses in the state and we thank you again for calling Maryland home. Check out the other recent celebrations in the photos below.

We have even more anniversaries to celebrate before 2017 comes to an end. If your company is celebrating a milestone, be sure to send us an email with the details.

-Mike
