The state of Maryland is once again heading overseas to demonstrate its leadership in the life sciences industry.

The Maryland Department of Commerce is bringing a delegation of companies to BioJapan 2022 , the oldest biotechnology exhibition in the world. Taking place October 12-14, the trade show will be held in Yokohama, known as the second most populated city in Japan.

Commerce is hosting a 36 square-meter booth (approximately 387 square-feet) that will be located at stand #D-20. Six companies are participating in the state’s delegation, including:

  • Aidar Health , the creator of MouthLab: a non-invasive, hand-held, home monitoring device that measures vital medical parameters.
  • Amarex , a contract research organization that supports R&D, discovery, validation, and approval.
  • BLA Regulatory , a company that provides end-to-end services with specialities in clinicals, biostatistics, scientific writing, and more.
  • Forecyte Bio Limited , a contract development and manufacturing company working to advance gene and cell therapy.
  • Primetime Life Sciences , a pharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of new, smart treatments.
  • Tasly Pharmaceuticals , a provider of effective plant-based alternative medicines for the healthcare industry.

While overseas, the delegation will visit a variety of facilities and Maryland companies in Kanagawa Prefecture, and network with local life science businesses. Governor Hogan recently made a stop in Kanagawa during his final overseas trade mission to celebrate its 40th Sister State anniversary with Maryland.
