Held every year on the first Friday of June, National Donut Day is a celebration not to be missed. This year, there are a number of stores recognizing the yearly dessert day. In addition to your local Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme stores, expand your palette and try a new bakery on June 7. 

Satisfy your sweet tooth by visiting one of these five delicious donut destinations in Maryland.

1. B Doughnut, La Plata
Open from 6AM – 3PM most weekdays, B Doughnut bakes up donuts and malasadas, a type of Portuguese fried donut covered in sugar.

2. Sandy Pony Donuts, Annapolis
Customize your order exactly how you want by trying one of 24 unique flavor combinations at Sandy Pony Donuts.

3. Glazed & Confuzed Donuts, Deep Creek 
Known as the area’s “far out food truck,” Glazed & Confuzed serves hot donuts made to order.

4. Laurel Tavern Donuts, Laurel
Jelly-filled, twists, apple fritters, and more—Laurel Tavern Donuts has plenty of options to snack on.

5. Newberry Café & Bakery, Bel Air
Freshly-baked donuts are served Tuesday through Sunday at Newberry Café, including zeppole, an Italian-style pastry made of deep-fried dough.
