Hunt Valley business pivots from photography products to face shields during COVID-19

After being in business for 16 years, one of the last things Nations Photo Lab expected was to convert its photo facilities into full-time PPE manufacturing shops. But when the COVID-19 pandemic hit Maryland, that’s exactly what this Baltimore County business did.

After becoming concerned with the lack of available PPE, the company made the switch from creating wedding albums and holiday cards to producing more than one million face shields for healthcare workers on the front lines. The company has continued to add new jobs to keep up with the personal protective equipment demand throughout the pandemic.

“The biggest reason we decided to do this was a sense of gratitude and a sense of purpose for so many in our healthcare community that have given us so much over the years,” said Ryan Millman, CEO of Nations Photo Lab.
