Maryland and Guinness Enterprise Centre partner on soft landing efforts

A new international partnership has formed between the state of Maryland and the Republic of Ireland.

As a result of Governor Hogan’s trade mission to France and Ireland , Maryland and the Guinness Enterprise Centre  are teaming up to provide business assistance and expansion opportunities to companies at home and abroad. The partnership will also focus on academics and networking opportunities between the regions, by connecting local talent at universities to work directly with innovative start-ups.

The agreement between the entities will help expand the Maryland Global Gateway Initiative, an innovative soft landing program that helps attract international businesses to Maryland and ease their transition into the U.S. market by connecting them with local incubators and accelerators. The governor recently announced $2 million of inaugural funding  for the program, and more than 20 Maryland accelerators and incubators throughout the state are currently participating in the program.
