Construction is underway for Choice Hotels’  new headquarters in Montgomery County, with the company hoping to move in by the end of next year.

Currently located in Rockville, the company is moving to a 100,000+ square-foot office space in North Bethesda at the mixed-use Pike & Rose  development. Known as one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, Choice Hotels anticipates adding 50 new jobs and employing 450 full-time workers at the site by 2028.

To assist with the company’s expansion, the Maryland Department of Commerce has approved a $1.6 million conditional loan, through Advantage Maryland, formerly the Maryland Economic Development Assistance Authority and Fund (MEDAAF).

"Designed with our specific needs in mind, these amenity-rich facilities will help enable us to perform at our peak, so we can best serve our guests and hotel owners,” said Patrick Pacious , president and CEO, Choice Hotels. “Further, we're pleased to keep our headquarters in Maryland, which has been our home for over 50 years."

Choice Hotels’ history dates back to 1939 and has since had more than 80 years of innovation and industry firsts. With more than 7,100 hotels in more than 40 countries and territories, the company has a dozen hotel brands under its name that provide a wide range of lodging options to travelers.

Its brands – including Clarion®, Econo Lodge®, MainStay Suites®, Quality®, Comfort®, and more – collectively total nearly 600,000 rooms around the world.
