New Internship Network of Maryland gears up

05/15/2017 | Julie Miller

Plans are underway to launch the Internship Network of Maryland (inMD), a collaborative effort by the Maryland Department of Commerce, Maryland Tech Council, Breezio, and Fearless.

inMD will provide an online platform that allows Maryland's interns to connect with industry professionals. The platform, in its final stages of development, will help students find internships, identify mentors, and collaborate with other interns throughout the state.

The program will bridge the skills gap and help students succeed after graduation, while building a talent pipeline to ultimately keep students in Maryland, says Bret Schreiber, director of education and innovation with the Maryland Department of Commerce.

inMD plans to open for beta testing in June. As early adopters, companies that participate in beta testing will have increased visibility among students and will receive special recognition when it launches this fall. Companies interested in beta testing can fill out a form on the inMD website.

Companies interested in partnering on any aspect of inMD can contact Bret Schreiber (bret.schreiber@maryland.gov) or Tami Howie, CEO of the Maryland Tech Council at (tami.howie@mtc.org)
