Maryland launches Manufacturing 4.0 program

The Maryland Department of Commerce has launched a new initiative to help manufacturers invest in Industry 4.0 technologies to modernize their operations.

The Maryland Manufacturing 4.0 grant program will provide grants to small and mid-sized Maryland manufacturers to stay competitive and help increase productivity and sales, cost savings, retention of employees, and more.

Similar to smart manufacturing, Industry 4.0 represents the fourth industrial revolution. It focuses on the digitization and automation of manufacturing facilities to help companies remain competitive and drive business growth. With the manufacturing industry rapidly changing, this new program will help Maryland Commerce invest in the state’s manufacturing sector and increase its global competitiveness in the digital economy.
