Hi everyone!

It’s hard to believe we’ve almost reached the end of the summer. School is starting in a matter of days and the holiday season will be upon us before we know it. But let’s not wish the rest of the year away… we have plenty more to accomplish!

We’ve been staying busy here at Maryland Commerce over the past few months. In addition to the MML and MACo summer conferences, we have toured more than half of the counties throughout Maryland! We’ve officially visited 15 jurisdictions as part of our county tour initiative, with nine more to go before the end of the year.

This summer, we celebrated PATRIOT’s 10th anniversary in Calvert County; met with Frederick’s Music & Arts, also known as the nation’s largest music lessons provider; toured Volvo’s Hagerstown facility and learned about its expansion plans; learned about Garrett College’s new STEM-field facility; visited the newly-restored Washington Inn & Tavern in Princess Anne; and hosted a discussion with Caroline County leadership at Choptank Transport.

One of my favorite moments from the summer months was flying in the 1943 PT19 – now renamed the Miss Kelly – what an adventure! Check out photos from our county visits so far on our Flickr account.

In between all these visits, we learned about quite a few businesses celebrating milestone anniversaries in Maryland. From IT providers and insurance companies, to our favorite restaurants and local distilleries, we can’t thank our businesses enough for locating right here in Maryland.
