The Maryland Department of Commerce is returning to Mexico City with a delegation of local companies for the international Expo Seguridad  trade show.

Known as the largest exhibition of security products and solutions in Latin America, Expo Seguridad allows Maryland to promote the state’s technology and defense assets to an international audience and assist its delegation with expanding into the global marketplace. This is the third time Maryland Commerce has attended the Mexico conference.

The seven companies traveling as part of the state delegation include AIRtec Inc , a commercial aviation company in St. Mary’s County; Alertus Technologies , a Baltimore City leader in emergency mass notification systems; Equinox Innovative Systems , a Howard County industry leader in multi-rotor drone technology integration and innovation; Mistral Security , a Montgomery County-based company helping bridge operational gaps in defense and law enforcement markets; Securityhunter , a Baltimore business that calls itself America's fastest growing security systems integrator; SPIN Global , a solutions provider for disaster resilience and emergency management in Prince George’s County; and Tansa Security , a third-generation family-owned Montgomery County company that provides a variety of turnstile and entrance solutions.

The majority of companies will be exhibiting in the Maryland booth located at #1231. Several of the companies attending the conference are utilizing grants from the ExportMD program , which assists small and mid-size companies with traveling and marketing costs associated with international trade shows.

Prince George’s County company SPIN Global is familiar with ExportMD grants and previously utilized the program to attend the United Nations Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction in Geneva, Switzerland and Bali, Indonesia. However, this will be the company’s first time traveling as part of the Maryland delegation, and it considers the Latin American market a top priority for its business.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to connect with and learn from industry leaders at Expo Seguridad. This is a unique environment to be part of the Maryland delegation where we will be able to share knowledge and stay up to date on Latin American affairs,” said Camila Tapias, global disaster resilience specialist at SPIN Global. “This opportunity will strengthen our International Practice Area so that we can increase the company’s global footprint, share our capabilities, and develop long lasting partnerships for our mutual benefit.”
